Boldwood are delighted to announce the acquisition of five more authors, bringing the total number of writers on its list to 184.
The new authors represent two growing strands within the Boldwood portfolio – spicy contemporary billionaire romance series from Zara Cox and V H Nicholson and powerful historical mysteries from the highly respected and successful Michael Jecks and Keith Moray. Alongside these writers, Alice G May has also been signed to the list with her exciting new WW2 saga series based on the true story of the Women’s Secret Army. All authors have been contracted on multi-book deals and will be published in every format simultaneously in all English-language territories.
To further enhance the Boldwood editorial team the company is delighted to welcome Emma Beswetherick as Editorial Director in January 2025, with a brief to acquire across all the commercial fiction genres. She joins with an exemplary publishing record from her time as Associate Publisher at Piatkus where she published many bestselling authors, including Rosamund Lupton and Lisa Ballantyne. She says: ‘I am thrilled to be joining such a forward-thinking company, one that continues to go from strength to strength. The Latest Boldwood Authors
Zara Cox is the writer of spicy contemporary romance. She has previously been published by Mills & Boon and Piatkus. Boldwood will publish Sky High Addiction, the first in her ‘Mile High Club’ billionaire romance series in March 2025.
Michael Jecks is the bestselling author of over 50 historical mysteries, and was most recently published by Canelo. He has served on the committees of the HWA, CWA and the Detection Club and has judged for the CWA Daggers. Boldwood will publish the first in his Vintaine series set during the The Hundred Years’ War in April 2025.
Alice G May is an artist and the author of several fiction and non-fiction books. She will join Boldwood with her first saga series, ‘The Resistance Girls’, based on the true story of the Women’s Secret Army in WWII, the first title of which will be published in Summer 2025.
Keith Moray writes historical crime fiction set variously in Ancient Egypt, the Outer Hebrides and Medieval York. He will begin a new mystery series with Boldwood, set against the backdrop of the Black Death in the 1360s, the first instalment of which will be published in October 2025.
V. H. Nicholson is a Scottish author of spicy romance fiction, including the internationally bestselling Hunting Eden. Boldwood will re publish her romance series ‘The Billionaire Boys’ in Spring 2025, followed by a new spicy series in the summer.
The Latest Boldwood Team Member
Emma Beswetherick had worked at Mills & Boon, the Sunday Times and for a publishing agent before spending thirteen years at Piatkus, where she became Associate Publisher and published many bestselling authors. Most recently she has been writing children’s books for Oneworld. She will join Boldwood in January 2025 as Editorial Director, responsible for building her own list across all the commercial fiction genres.
