Boldwood is delighted to announce the acquisition of fifteen more authors – bringing the total numbers of writers in its stable to 151.

Included in the list are chart-topping women’s fiction writers Alex Brown, Julie Houston and Emma Burstall alongside bestselling dark thriller authors Rona Halsall and Saskia Sarginson. To further enhance their historical fiction offering, Boldwood are welcoming Clare Marchant, Carly Schabowski, Rachel Brimble, Victoria Darke and Alex Weston and with his new thirteenth century historical adventure series – Richard Cullen.

Bringing their romantic fiction to the list are the multi-million bestselling author Kate Hewitt alongside the debut writer Darcy McGuire.Known for her much-loved rural romps, Fiona Walker is turning to cosy crime for Boldwood, while Rob Sinclair is bringing his internationally successful action thriller series featuring James Ryker to the company – for both frontlist and backlist publishing.  All authors have been contracted on multi-book deals and will be published in every format simultaneously in all English-language territories.  

To extend its global reach, Boldwood is also delighted to announce that they have forged two new European partnerships.  Together with City Editions in Paris, they are collaborating to bring a range of Boldwood titles to the French market.  In addition, they are creating Boldwood Books NL with the Dutch publisher House of Books – planning a schedule of more than thirty titles each year from across the list over the next three years.

The Latest Boldwood Authors

Rachel Brimble is the bestselling author of over thirty works of historical romance and saga fiction, most recently published by Aria. The first book in her new series with Boldwood, The Home Front Nurses, set in Bath, will be published in August 2024.

Alex Brown is an international #1 bestselling women’s fiction author. Her novels have been published in twenty-one countries and have sold over a million copies. Previously published by HarperCollins, her first title for Boldwood, Bring Me Sunshine, will be published in June 2024.

Emma Burstall is the bestselling author of women’s fiction, including the Tremanock series. Previously published by Aria, she will be writing a new series for Boldwood set in Crete, the first book of which will be released in September 2024.

Richard Cullen is a writer of historical adventure and epic fantasy. Previously published by Head of Zeus and Orbit Books, his new historical adventure series for Boldwood, Chronicles of the Black Lion, set in thirteenth-century England, will launch in October 2024.

Victoria Darke has been a journalist for many media outlets including the BBC and The Telegraph. She is the author of three novels as Victoria Scott, published by Head of Zeus. Her first book for Boldwood, a Gothic timeslip novel, The House in the Water, will be published in May 2024.

Rona Halsall is a #1 bestselling author of psychological thrillers including, most recently, The Bigamist. Previously published by Bookouture, she lives on the Isle of Man and her first book with Boldwood, The Fiancé, will be published in August 2024.

Kate Hewitt is a million copy bestselling author of historical, contemporary and romantic fiction. She’s bringing her romantic fiction (previously with Tule Press) to Boldwood, with a new series set in small-town Connecticut, the first of which will be published in September 2024.

Julie Houston is the author of thirteen bestselling novels set in and around two fictional West Yorkshire villages. Most recently published by Aria, she will begin a new series with Boldwood, the first title of which will be published in July 2024.

Clare Marchant is the author of dual timeline historical fiction. Her books have been translated into seven languages, and she is a USA Today bestseller. Previously published by Avon, her first book with Boldwood, The House of the Witch, will be published in August 2024.

Darcy McGuire is an award-winning New Zealand-born writer now living in the Pacific Northwest. She will write a five-part Victorian romance series for Boldwood, focused on a group of ‘Deadly Damsels’. The first book will be published in June 2024.

Saskia Sarginson is a bestselling author whose debut novel, The Twins, was a Richard and Judy Book Club pick. Most recently published by Piatkus, she will write dark psychological thrillers for Boldwood, the first of which, Identical, will be published in May 2024.

Carly Schabowski is a lecturer and the USA Today bestselling author of historical fiction, including The Rainbow. Previously published by Bookouture, her new WWII historical novel for Boldwood will be published in November 2024.

Rob Sinclair is the million copy bestseller of over twenty thrillers, including the James Ryker series. Most recently published by Bloodhound, Boldwood will publish his latest action thriller, Rogue Hero, in June 2024 and will be republishing all the James Ryker series over the coming months.

Fiona Walker is the million copy bestselling author of joyously funny romantic comedies. Most recently published by Head of Zeus, she will be turning to cozy crime for Boldwood. The first in her new Village Detectives series, The Art of Murder, will be published in May 2024.

Alex Weston is a debut historical fiction writer whose novels are inspired by forbidden love in 1930s Hollywood. She lives in East Yorkshire and her first book for Boldwood, The Hollywood Governess,  will be published in June 2024.
