Lucia Starbuck is an award-winning journalist covering politics, focusing on democracy and solutions, for KUNR Public Radio. She has received multiple regional Edward R. Murrow awards for her storytelling and a national Murrow for her mentorship to students participating in KUNR Youth Media. Starbuck is interested in how policy can directly improve people’s lives, and the intersections of politics and health care. Her project for the 2023 National Fellowship focuses on doulas and how they can improve health outcomes for families in rural Nevada.
