Boldwood announces ten more author acquisitions after a successful second year of trading

Boldwood is delighted to announce the acquisition of ten more authors – bringing the total number of writers on its list to 77. This comes after a standout second year of trading in 2021 – with revenue up 70% to £2.7m and a net profit of over 30%. The ten new authors range from accomplished debuts to already established international bestsellers and have all been contracted on multi-book deals and will be published in every format simultaneously in all English-language territories. From the psychological thriller sensations Alison Stockham, Anita Waller, John Nicholl, J A Baker, Keri Beevis and Valerie Keogh, to the charming romantic escapist writing of Georgina Troy and the hilarious romcoms of Phoebe MacLeod, via the powerful sagas of Tracy Baines and the wonderful Victorian mysteries of Alexandra Walsh – these latest additions further emphasise the breadth of the Boldwood list, showcasing the very best in commercial fiction. The Latest Boldwood Authors

Alexandra Walsh is the bestselling author of dual timeline historical mysteries, previously published by Sapere. Her books range from the fifteenth century to the Victorian era and are inspired by the hidden voices of women that have been lost over the centuries. Formerly a journalist, writing for national newspapers, magazines and TV, her first book for Boldwood will be published in Spring 2023.

Alison Stockham’s debut novel The Cuckoo Sister, will be published by Boldwood in July 2022, and has already been longlisted for the Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize. Having worked in TV documentary production for the BBC and Channel 4, Alison is now the Events Coordinator for the Cambridge Literary Festival.

Anita Waller is the author of many bestselling psychological thrillers and the Kat and Mouse crime series. She lives in Sheffield, which continues to be the setting of many of her thrillers, and was first published by Bloodhound at the age of sixty-nine. Her first book for Boldwood will be published in August 2022.

Georgina Troy writes bestselling uplifting romantic escapes and sets her novels on the island of Jersey, where she was born and has lived for most of her life. She has done a twelve-book deal with Boldwood, including backlist titles, and the first book in her Sunshine Island series will be published in May 2022.

J. A. Baker is a successful psychological thriller writer of numerous books, previously published by Bloodhound. Born and brought up in Middlesbrough, she still lives in the North East, which inspires the settings for her books. Her first title for Boldwood will be published in December 2022. For release Tuesday 8th March 2022

John Nicholl is the bestselling author of numerous psychological thrillers and detective series, previously published by Bloodhound, and inspired by his real-life experience as an ex-police officer and child protection social worker. Boldwood will be publishing the next title in his Galbraith series and a new psychological thriller in autumn 2022, and will be reissuing his bestselling backlist from May 2022.

Keri Beevis is the internationally bestselling author of several psychological thrillers and romantic suspense mysteries, including the very successful Dying to Tell, published by Bloodhound. She sets many of her books in the county of Norfolk, where she was born and still lives and which provides much of her inspiration. Keri’s first thriller for Boldwood, Mother Knows Best, will be published in October 2022.

Phoebe MacLeod is the author of several popular laugh-out-loud romantic comedies. She mainly sets her books in her home county of Kent and her first new title for Boldwood will be published in November 2022. They will also be republishing her existing titles from August this year.

Tracy Baines is the bestselling saga writer of The Variety Girls series, originally published by Ebury, which Boldwood will continue with. She was born and brought up in Cleethorpes and spent her early years in the theatre world which inspired her writing. The first title of her new saga series for Boldwood – set amongst the fisherfolk of Grimsby – will be published in October 2022.

Valerie Keogh is the internationally bestselling author of several psychological thrillers and crime series, most recently published by Bloodhound. She originally comes from Dublin but now livesin Wiltshire and worked as a nurse for many years. Her first thriller for Boldwood will be published in August 2022.
